
Kids Fishing Camp
Candlewood Fishing Camp is the ultimate kids fishing camp experience. Our camp is a great way to get children out on the water to learn about fishing on Candlewood lake. Our camp will have two sessions this summer. The first is June 20th through the 26th and the second session is August 11th through August 17th.
Kids Fishing Camp – About Candlewood Lake
Campers will spend the week on over 100 acres of woodlands directly on the waterfront of Candlewood Lake. Campers will learn strategies to catch world class-sized smallmouth and largemouth bass with the top tournament anglers and fishing guides in the area . Candlewood Lake annually ranked in Bassmaster Magazine’s Top 25 Best Lakes to Fish for Bass in the northeast and is a top destination for tournament fisherman. Campers will be learning the best techniques to target and catch various species with a primary focus on bass.
In addition to Bass, campers will also learn to target and catch other game fish species in the lake including crappie, perch, and trout. They will engage in week-long tournament style fishing competing in the categories of most fish caught, biggest catch for each species, total overall weight and more. While we will have light group competition, the overall theme will be to have fun and learn fishing strategies that will last a lifetime.
What to expect

- Identifying fishing holding areas and feeding patterns
- Lessons on the different types of fishing methods and presentations used.
- How to successfully fish with different artificial baits such as top water, spinner baits, plastics and live bait
- Lessons of types of fishing methods such as trolling, anchoring and drifting
- Comfortable sleeping cabins with lake views
- Strong emphasis on boating safety, sun protection and ethical catch-and-release practices
